Artist Statement
My artistic investigation concentrates on basic exercises to address the question about how to inhabit a blank surface. Tensioning the support with a limited repertoire of materials, the pieces respond to my working method: in the repetition of gestures and actions, emerging forms are configured.
I expand the disciplinary boundaries of my practice understanding procedural traces at the studio and on the paper as constetudinary qualities to underscore the immanence of each material. In that sense, the act of drawing, of spreading powdered graphite, and even painting with ink and a roller becomes a synonym of occupying a territory.
