Artist Statement
My work explores themes of memory, mortality, and the passing of time. Gathering inspiration from old family photos, childhood recollections and found images, I paint not what’s in front of me but what I recall from a distant memory. With the passing of time, an ugliness emerges yet there is beauty that coexists within. The figures in my paintings appear to dissolve into the background, evoking a constant struggle of clarity and uncertainty, life and death.
