Artist Statement

Fischer Cherry reframes current cultural trends through a dialogue with historical art references. Her latest project, "Between Our Ears," is an interactive sculpture that compels viewers to take "selfies" with a camera located inside the sculpture, and to consider how doing so impacts our collective unconscious.

I am a multi-disciplinary artist that reframes gender representation in pop culture using photography, sculpture, 3-D printing, interactive installations and other media to reflect a universality of female experience and struggle.
